SCSA is proud to announce the creation of a new prestigious award dedicated to scenic arts, in the form of a specially commissioned bronze sculpture created by Italian sculptor Angelo Brugnera.
Artist and sculptor, Angelo Brugnera created the distinctive sculpture cast in bronze specially commissioned by the International Scenic Arts Awards. "Angelo Brugnera smooths the stone and marble pieces with the patience of an artisan, which is a determining component of the attraction that his sculptures arouse. Beautifully made objects to contemplate, each offering a fresh and multi-faceted aspect; forms that are brought to life in the eye of the beholder. Forms that, if they suggest derivations and echoes – Viani, Moore – they do not however cease to transmit their intrinsic inventiveness." (Giancarlo Pauletto)
The prestigious 2016 Award is in recognition of the achievements of directors and scenographers who have produced works that stand out for their experimention and use of language and techniques in contemporary art and technological innovation. Candidates for the award are selected by a jury commission of notable theatre critics and internationally known artists.
The awards ceremony will take place as part of the programme announced for the summer of 2016.
